How can gut issues cause all of these symptoms?

Our gut contains trillions of living bacteria.  So many in fact, that they out number of own cells ten to one.  Gut bacteria is referred to as the gut microbiome which plays a very important role in keeping us healthy.  Its role includes:

  • Producing important enzymes, vitamins, fatty acids, amino acids and neurotransmitters such as serotonin
  • Providing a protective barrier against harmful bacteria, yeast, viruses and parasites
  • Aids in the digestion and absorption of nutrients
  • Aids in the detoxification of harmful substances
  • Supports immune system function
  • Regulates the body’s inflammatory responses
  • Detoxifies hormones
  • Aids in blood sugar balance

When our gut bacteria is out of balance due to stress, bad diet, antibiotic use, infections, lack of sleep and excessive alcohol intake, the health of our overall body and mind suffers.

What is included in the Program?

Initial appointment (1 hour)

3 follow up appointments (30-45mins)

Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis + PCR and SIBO Testing

The Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis + PCR detects macroscopic, microscopic bacteria (both beneficial and pathogenic), yeasts and parasites as well as parasitic and bacterial DNA (this is the PCR which is the most accurate detection method).

This test also reports issues with maldigestion of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and starch as well as any imbalances in gut pH.

The test kit will be posted to you for you to complete at home and post back to Nutripath for assessment.

You can view an example of the test results here

SIBO testing

Small Intestinal Bacterial Growth (SIBO) occurs when there’s an increased number and / or abnormal type of bacteria in the small intestine resulting in excessive fermentation and inflammation.

The SIBO test is a breath test.  The test kit will be posted to you for you to complete at home and post back to Nutripath for assessment.

You can view an example of the test results here
